HAIR TRANSPLANTATION WITH FUE TECHNIQUE

The hair structures (thick, thin, curly, etc.) of our patients are evaluated according to the genetic and medical information, head structure, forehead structure and openness of the transplantation area during the examination, and we take the patient into the operation under operating room conditions after the required analysis and pre-operative interview are performed, giving a particular importance to patient’s transplantation request to avoid deformity in the donor area on the nape.

After determining the donor area from where the hair follicles will be harvested, the hair in the donor area is shaved to be 1 mm in length.

After obtaining regional numbness with local anesthesia, hair follicles with the surrounding microscopic tissue are harvested with help of the special cylindrical tips (0,6-0,9mm) of micro motors without causing any harm or pain and without incision or suture scarring in proportion to the density and structure of the hair; these samples that are gently harvested from the loose area by entering minimally through the most suitable angles with the help of micro forceps are called “graft”. There are approximately 1-3 pieces of hair follicles in a single graft. Grafts are harvested one by one and counted and stored in appropriate media and solutions for a short period of time ensuring that they remain alive.

Afterwards, local anesthesia is administered again to the transplantation area and the area is numbed and then, the canals are formed as many as the graft number of the patient without causing any harm to existing hair and in proportion to the hair density according to the direction of hair growth. After the procedure of canal opening, the patient is comfortably placed in a supine position and the transplantation procedure is carried out in a comfortable position. The duration of a transplantation operation may vary from 4 to 8 hours depending on the number of grafts.

The patient is not completely anesthetized during the operation and becomes aware of all the procedures performed.

Why FUE technique?

– FUE technique does not cause a very obvious surgical scar during hair transplantation. Very small abrasions are formed in the area from where hair follicles are harvested; these abrasions close up in a few days and heal without leaving a scar behind.

– Thanks to this technique, the grafts harvested from the nape region can be used in eyebrow, mustache and beard transplantations, in addition to hair transplantation.

– Up to a maximum of 7000 grafts can be harvested in a single session.

– The technique causes less pain and provides shorter healing period on the following days after the operation.

– No conditions such as swollen eyes, head bruise, pain, bleeding arise after the transplantation and it does not affect the patient’s social life.

Hair Washing Process

We perform the first intervention to the transplantation area on the 3rd day after the operation, and explain and show you the washing process in detail. You can prevent the crusting and formation of clotting by washing your hair for 10-12 days as we show you.

Hair Growth Process

The hair begins to fall out approximately 1 month after the transplantation and begins to regrow 2-3 months later. Half of the transplanted hair apparently begins to grow out on the 6th month, however the adaptation period is completed within 1-1.5 years and it gains the best condition during this period.

The transplanted hair does not fall out for a lifetime since it is harvested from the area that is genetically programmed not to fall out.
